Rules

TITLES
The Competitions shall be known as the “Doncaster Rovers Senior League Challenge Cup”, “Doncaster Rovers Senior League Premier Division Cup” and “Doncaster Rovers Senior League Division One Cup”. Each Competition shall be competed in by the Clubs in the respective division of the Doncaster and District Senior League.
Changed from….. The Competition shall be known as the “Doncaster and District Senior League Knock Out Cup”. Each Competition shall be competed by the Clubs in the respective division of the Doncaster and District Senior League.
MANAGEMENT
The management of this Competition shall be the Doncaster and District Senior League Management Committee.
Changed from… The management of this Competition shal be the Doncaster and District Senior League Committee as per their Rule 4.
The Rules of the Doncaster and District Senior League shall apply to this Competition with such special provisions and exceptions as shall follow herewith.
ENTRANCE FEE
The entrance fee for each competition shall be £15 per team, this is included in league fees to be paid to the Treasurer of the Doncaster and District Senior League on or before 31st July each year.

MATCHES
All matches shall be played under the Laws of the Game and Rules of the Football Association.
The Club drawn first in the ballot shall have choice of ground on which the match shall be played. If two Clubs are drawn together whose colours are similar then the visiting team must change. The Management Committee shall fix the dates and times of kick-off when the matches shall be played.
Any Club failing to keep its engagement may be fined a sum not exceeding £50 and ordered to pay to the complaining Club such compensation as the Management Committee may assess, or otherwise be dealt with as the Management Committee may decide. The Management Committee have the power to dismiss any club from the Competition.
The Final tie shall be played on grounds selected by the Management Committee. Each match shall not be less than 90 minutes duration. Any match not completed shall be replayed for the full 90 minutes. If the scores are level at the end of any match, extra time of 15 minutes each way shall be played. If the score remains level at the end of extra time, then penalties shall be taken in accordance with International Board Decisions to decide the winner.
The whole of the proceeds of the final ties to the Competition, less the official’s fees and match expenses.
Application for permission to cancel a match, must where time permits, be made to the League Secretary not less than seven days prior to the date originally fixed, In the case of final ties, 21 days notice shall be given by Clubs requiring permission to cancel.
PLAYERS
Players must be bona-fide members of their Clubs as per Rule 8 of the Doncaster Rovers Senior League Rules.
Removed the following as this rule is no longer relevant as this was from a time when everything was done on paper and by post when teams could not see who was registered by their opponents….. In Semi-final and final ties clubs shall, not less than five days before the match, send the opposing Club a list of players from which the team for each match will be selected. In case of a postponed or replayed match, the above period of time shall be observed in so far as circumstances permit, and only those players shall be allowed to play who were eligible, not necessarily on the original list, on the date fixed for the competition of the round, i.e. when the match was originally fixed. For any breach of this rule or any other irregularity or interference in relation to the smooth running of the competition, the Management Committee shall have the power to dismiss the offending club.
Penalty for failing to send a list of players to the opposing Club will be a fine of £20.

Substitutes shall be permitted in accordance with Rule 10G of the Doncaster & District Senior League rules.
No player shall play for more than one club in ANY senior league cup competition in the same season. No player of a defeated cup team may play in any other of the Doncaster Senior League Cup Competitions in the same season, except in the event of an emergency, permission may be granted by the Management Committee or such officials as they may delegate.
In the Semi-Final and Final rounds each individual player must have been registered with the Doncaster Senior League for his Club at least 28 days prior to the date fixed for the match and played a minimum of four League or cup matches with his Club.
PROTESTS
All protests shall be made in writing to the League Secretary. The protesting Club shall send one copy of the protest to the League Secretary within three days of the match (not including Sundays) per registered letter, together with a deposit of £50, also at the same time send a copy of the protest to the opposing Club. The deposit shall be forfeited should the protest not be sustained. In dealing with any protest the Management Committee may take into consideration the possession by the Club concerned of any knowledge, which if properly used, might have obviated the protest.
Any appeal against the decision of the Management Committee can be made direct to the Sheffield and Hallamshire County Football Association in accordance with their Rules, and their decision shall be final.
MATCH OFFICIALS
Referees shall be appointed as per rule 13 of the Doncaster Senior League. Assistant referees may be appointed to any match at the discretion of the Management Committee
In all matches where official Assistant Referees are not appointed, Clubs have a responsibility to nominate a club linesman who should report to the match referee not less than 5 minutes before the kick off time for instructions.
The fees of officials are as per rule 13(E) of the Doncaster Senior League rules
In ordinary rounds the referee must be paid his fee by the home club.
The Final Referee and Assistant Referees may receive a trophy in lieu of their fee.
TROPHIES
When the winners of the trophy have been ascertained the League shall (on guarantors for the safety being provided) hand such trophy to the Club’s representatives on receiving a document to the following effect and signed by them.
The following agreement shall be signed on behalf of the winners of the Cup or Trophy:-
“We A________________and B__________________, the Chairman and Secretary
of ________________________FC, members of and representing the Club, having been declared winners of _____________________Cup or Trophy, and it having been delivered to us by the Competition, do hereby on behalf of the Club jointly and severally agree to return the Cup or Trophy to the Competition Secretary on or before 1st April. If the Cup or Trophy is lost or damaged whilst under our care we agree to refund to the Competition the amount of its current value or the cost of its thorough repair.”
Failure to comply will result in a fine as determined by the Management Committee.
No trophy shall become the permanent property of any club without permission of the management committee
GENERAL
The foregoing rules apply only to teams competing in the Doncaster and District Senior League Knock out cup competitions.
The Senior League Management Committee reserves the right to deal with all matters relating to the competition not provided for in these rules, subject to the Association, in conformity with the Rules and regulations of the Football Association.
Any club intending to withdraw from the competition must inform the League Secretary and the opposing club of their intention to do so not less than eight days before the date fixed for the competition of the round. Any club failing to do so shall be reported to the Management Committee, who shall be empowered to compel such offending
