New Teams Wanted

The Doncaster Rovers Senior Football League is looking for more teams to join their league next season.
If you are thinking of creating and developing a new team for next season to play Saturday Football in the Doncaster area then the information below could be of interest to you.

Who are we?
We are the Doncaster Rovers Senior Football League

What are our credentials?
Formed in 1925 not only are we proud to say we are the oldest open age football league in Doncaster but we are also Charter Standard, in fact the first and only Charter Standard open age football league in the district. We are also sponsored by our local professional football club Doncaster Rovers FC. This partnership brings our teams some fantastic offers and incentives and as far as we are aware we are the only league with a sponsorship deal with a professional club in the country.

What we offer and when?
We offer the most affordable open age football in the district and our matches are played on a Saturday with every game refereed by qualified officials. Due to changes in people’s lifestyles we actively promote flexible kick off times if they can be agreed by both teams to suit theirs and their player needs. Support and mentoring is provided for all teams to aid in the administration and running of your club and our online system for your player registrations and match returns saves you both time and money making running a team less work and far more affordable. We offer assistance in helping our teams achieve Charter Standard status in order for them to receive more grants and help from the F.A. and it’s partners whilst making sure all our clubs are also receiving the money and grants they are entitled to in order to help them develop and grow

Our Catchment Area
In years past we have had teams from the Sheffield & Hallamshire, West Riding, Nottinghamshire & Lincolnshire County FA’s participate in the league and we accept teams from the Doncaster District to Barnsley and Wakefield in the west, Selby in the North, Retford and Worksop to the south and Owston Ferry in the East. So as you can see we do have a large catchment area for any new clubs wanting to join us.

Financial Help for new teams?
Through the Football Foundation, the ‘Grow the Game’ grant is currently available for new teams wishing of up to £1500 to aid with the cost of starting up and playing football. This grant can cover costs such as kits and equipment costs, facilities hire, referees costs etc. You need to contact your County Football Association to apply for this and the closing date is 10th March 2016 this year.

Who to contact and want to know more?
If you want to know more and to become part of the most forward thinking league in the area for the 2016/17 season then please don’t hesitate to contact our secretary Mr Jonathan Preen by email at jonpreen@sky.com or by phone on 07891195889
